Christmas Decorations!

I am just now starting to take down Christmas decorations, because it has taken me this long to get up the energy to tackle it! I did a little more this year than the past few so I kind of hated to put everything away =(. Christmas always flies by, and I even put our decorations up really early this year (I think about a week before Thanksgiving)...I made the letters that spell out 'Peace' using letters and paint I got at Hobby Lobby super cheap. It was super easy, and I liked how they turned out so I am going to try and do something similar for Shelly's wedding using her color scheme. Maybe something with her soon-to-be last name spelled out somewhere in the reception room...Also in the picture is our super adorable puppy, Franklin. I am a little bit sick today, but I still managed to get a lot done around the apartment. I had to cancel plans with Annette because I felt so bad when I woke up, but I did feel better as the day went on. Hopefully we can reschedule for tomorrow because the plan is to see Bride Wars and I'm really looking forward to it =D. I am also excited because my sister is coming to visit in two weeks and we will be able to work on making a final plan for all of the wedding decor! (Since I am technically her 'planner' after all ;P) I am betting that the time will fly by and before we know it, May and her wedding will be here...that's always how it seems to go. I am also still trying to get my jaw surgery approved, so it is strange to think that by the time her wedding is here, I may have already had the surgery. That would be fabulous because I really want to get it over with, and then be able to get my braces off soon after (6 months or so, but still way sooner than I was expecting). I will try to not wait so long between posts next time, hopefully since the holidays are over it won't be so hard to find time...

weddings!

paul & charity are getting married this weekend!

adam & i are in the wedding party, so it should be a very eventful and fun weekend. we get to spend some time with friends we don't see often, like mark & maegan, so i am looking forward to it. i really love the bridesmaid dresses charity picked, and thank goodness they are full length, because it's literally below freezing outside right now.

most of my christmas shopping is done, and i do have ideas for most of the people left on the list. hopefully the weather will cooperate tomorrow so that i can try to finish up. adam & i decided that instead of picking out gifts for each other, we would buy gifts we could both enjoy...so we got a ps3 and rock band 2 and went ahead and started using them last weekend. we get to have three different christmases, so we didn't think it would ruin christmas to open the presents early. we have been playing rock band almost every night. adam named our band 'the franklin experience' and we've got a jet and roadies and play all over the world! it's so much fun.

i have a few projects i need to work on for shelly's wedding, but i was a little worried about driving to hobby lobby because of the icy roads. hopefully i can run over there tomorrow to try and get everything i need. i have to come up with ideas for decorating the reception and for the bridesmaids bouquets. i am pretty confident that i will be able to do something really nice for the bouquets that is also way cheaper than a florist. shelly just wants white roses, so it's more about figuring out a way to add in beads or something to make them super cute and unique. so i have got to do a few practice attempts in order to fully convince shelly that this will be a good idea. also, i have a few ideas for chair covers, bows, etc for the reception that i need to play around with...

if i get a chance to work on any of these projects before we go out of town this weekend, i'll try to post pictures!
